Sacramental Preparation

Sacraments are fundamental experiences of God's love, which shape the community of believers even as they are being celebrated in the ritual actions of worship.

In the second grade, students prepare for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion through Religious Education classes at their home parish. During the time leading up to these sacraments, First Reconciliation and First Communion are a topic of second grade religion classes at ASCS.

Non-Catholic second grade students participate in sacramental curriculum at All Saints along with their classmates. Although they do not take part in the sacrament itself, they learn about this special journey.

A school-wide celebration of this journey is held each year during our all-school liturgies.
